Peak Education Collaboration

Partner Spotlight: How Peak Education Is Building the Future — With Youth at the Center

At Dr. G’s Lab, we believe the most impactful digital tools are co-created with communities, not just for them — especially when those communities are young people navigating some of life’s biggest transitions. That’s why we’re thrilled to spotlight one of our most aligned and inspiring partners: Peak Education, a Colorado-based nonprofit walking alongside youth as they prepare for life after high school.

Peak Education's mission is bold, clear, and deeply human: to illuminate possibilities, guide students in charting their course, and equip them with the skills and support needed for the journey ahead. Their work with first-generation, low-income, and rural youth isn’t just about college access — it’s about agency, opportunity, and long-term impact.

Over the past few years, we’ve had the honor of collaborating with Peak Ed on two powerful digital tools: InterWoven and Motivaid. Both projects reflect Peak Ed’s unwavering commitment to youth voice and equity — and both were co-designed with the very students they hope to serve.

InterWoven: Bridging the Gap Between High School and College

WNow live in the App Store and Google Play, InterWoven connects high school students — many of whom are first in their families to consider college — with current college students who’ve walked similar paths.

This app offers a safe, affirming space where high schoolers can:

  • Ask candid questions about college life

  • Get real-world insights beyond brochures and websites

  • Build confidence through relatable peer connections

Built with input from both high school and college students, InterWoven is a model for what happens when we trust young people to lead: it’s authentic, grounded, and deeply useful.

Motivaid: Taking the Stress Out of Financial Aid

Still in development and launching later this summer, Motivaid is an innovative mobile app created by students in Colorado’s Harrison School District 2. It’s designed to simplify the often overwhelming financial aid and scholarship process for high schoolers and their families.

With smart features like:

  • Personalized timelines and reminders

  • Plain-language steps to complete FAFSA and other forms

  • Resources that demystify confusing jargon

Motivaid puts power back in students’ hands — literally.

It’s more than a tool; it’s a trauma-informed support system that reduces barriers and builds confidence at a critical moment in a young person’s life.

Why This Matters — And How You Can Work With Us

Peak Ed didn’t just come to us with an idea. They came with a commitment to do things differently — to embed youth voice, trauma-informed design, and community wisdom into every phase of development. That’s what made these partnerships powerful.

If you’re a nonprofit leader or founder looking to:

  • Build a tool that meets your users where they are

  • Co-design solutions with your community

  • Apply trauma-informed, youth-centered design in real life

…Dr. G’s Lab is ready to collaborate.

We can support everything from early strategy to user research, prototyping, pilot testing, and scaling with integrity. And as InterWoven and Motivaid show — when you build with young people, the results aren’t just innovative. They’re transformative.
